LU men fall to late PSU surge

JOPLIN, Mo. — The Pittsburg State Gorillas broke open a close game over the final 13 minutes and dropped the Lincoln Blue Tigers 86-78 in men’s basketball action Friday at the Freeman Sports/Chris Tucker Memorial Classic.
The Gorillas got a monster game from Kaleb Porter, who scored 34 points on 11-of-17 shooting, which included a 5-of-6 effort from 3-point range.
Lincoln put four players in double figures in the contest, as Cedric Ridle Jr. and Charles Cole had 18 points each. Montez Fifer chipped in with 15 and Sean Harris had 11.
That was part of a strong overall effort from Harris, who added a game-high six blocks and a team-high eight rebounds.
