COLUMBIA — Sometimes Missouri coach Frank Haith has to give a subtle reminder to followers of the Missouri basketball program.
Haith is adamant the Tigers are still “a work in progress” despite lofty expectations and a pair of comfortable wins.
“This team is not where we’re going to be in January,” Haith said. “We’re not where we’re going to be in February. This team is going to get better.”
The 14th ranked Tigers, who take on Nicholls State at 7 p.m. today at Mizzou Arena, are 2-0 after victories against Southern Illinois Edwardsville and Alcorn State. But both games have featured a sloppy half in which the Tigers still seem to be feeling out each other. Of the 12 players who have played this season, only point guard Phil Pressey played for the Tigers last season.
