Preservation Commission concerned about early demolition work

A property owner proceeded with demolition activity before the application was released Tuesday by the Historic Preservation Commission.

Although commissioners released the demolition application for 209 Lincoln St., they were concerned that serious work had begun before the commission had a chance to review the information within the 60-day period. The owner plans to build a new house on the lot.

The commission also continued discussions about changing the ordinance language to require interior photos of each room.

Make the owner rebuild it, take pictures, and then tear it down.

Wonder why this town is dieing and no one wants to be annexed?

Why do they want to keep old rotting buidings owned by private owners and prevent new buildings from being constructed? Is this town afraid of progress? Are they afraid to grow?

Wonder why young people do not want to live here.

Does anyone know why they don't tear down those dumpy vacant houses on West McCarty diagonally across from the Truman Building?
