City to offer modified baseball leagues
Wednesday, November 14, 2012
Jefferson City Parks and Recreation will begin offering a modified baseball league next year.
The move comes after the city department announced in July that it would no longer offer competitive baseball or softball leagues starting in 2013 because it was unable to compete with private organizations.
“It’s a little more competitive than recreational, but it’s not competitive,” said Kerri Gates, recreation specialist with the department.
