Mo. auditor to review 2 assistance programs
Monday, November 12, 2012
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Missouri Auditor Tom Schweich (shwyk) is planning to review the Department of Social Services’ administration of two assistance programs.
Schweich says the audit will focus on Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and the Electronic Benefit Transfer process, which is used to access food stamps. The audit has been added to the 2013 schedule for Schweich’s office.
Schweich pointed to recent reports of benefits being accessed from casinos, gentlemen’s clubs and locations around the world. He says the assistance programs are not intended to finance recipients’ entertainment or to pay for their vacations.

Careful Hudson. Saying you won't pay for their lapdance is the same as saying you won't let them ever get a lapdance again you know. It's getting in to their lives and telling them what to do.

OMG what about using the benefits for cigarettes, booze, drugs and getting their nails done?????Why not when they have all the food pantries to get free clothes food and services??????WAKE UP DSS!!!!!!!!! There are plenty of people willing to volunteer their services to uncover fraudulent applicants!!!!!

Please step up and give them some assistance. The State Auditor's Office has had a toll-free tip hotline for a long time. Here it is, from their website:
"Persons who would like to provide information during the audit process of DSS and these specific topics are encouraged to contact the State Auditor's office at 800-347-8597 or by email at moaudit@auditor.mo.gov"
