California hopes defense rests against Duchesne

There were a lot of positives for California to take from its 28-21 victory Monday against Centralia to win the Class 3 District 6 title.

But if there is something to be picky about, California head coach Marty Albertson would like to see his defense spend a little less time on the field this time around.

Albertson hopes ball control reverses field a bit as the Pintos prepare to host a Class 3 quarterfinal game against Duchesne at 1:30 p.m. today.

“We have to get off the field on defense,” Albertson said. “We’ve been used to running 50 or 60 plays.”
