The Cole County Commission decided Wednesday to delay setting the rates for the Eugene water system. The town's water customers currently pay $16.32 a month, regardless of how much water they consume.
Under a rate plan approved last month, that would jump to a minimum of $30 a month, plus $6 for each 1,000 gallons used. That means the "average" customer who uses 5,000 gallons each month, would see their bill jump from $16.32 to $60.
