Area volleyball players capture honors

The Fatima Lady Comets won their first state volleyball title in school history last week, and here come the accolades.

Three Lady Comets were named all-state performers by the Missouri Volleyball Coaches Association for their efforts this season on the championship team that finished 37-4-1.

Senior setter Brianna Kempker and senior middle hitter JoAnna Muenks were both named to the first team in Class 2. Junior libero Angela Keiholz was named to the second team.

Four other area players also earned all-state honors.
