New book called biography of MSP

MSP has been an essential part of Jefferson City history since 1836. New author Jamie Pamela Rasmussen managed to capture the facility's tales in her new book “The Missouri State Penitentiary — 170 Years Inside the Walls.”

“Basically my book is a biography of the Missouri State Penitentiary,” Rasmussen said. “It begins with how the prison was founded, developments, founding of the department of corrections, tours, and development efforts going on now.”

Rasmussen used several sources to gather information about the penitentiary.
