Construction that began on the Missouri Capitol's westside stairs in March is near completion, according to Office of Administration spokeswoman Wanda Seeney.

The only remaining work is the planting of a few trees and shrubs, which Seeney said should happen within the next few weeks.

Professional Contractors & Engineers Inc. completed the stair project on schedule and within the $1.063 million budget.
