The Jefferson City Jays were trying to rewrite recent history.

Heading into Tuesday night's Class 3 sectional contest against Rock Bridge, the Jays had lost four of their last six meetings with the Bruins. They were all one-goal decisions.

Now it's five of their last seven. All by one goal.

"I was kind of hoping the ball might bounce our way a little bit, but it didn't," Jays coach Eddie Horn said after Rock Bridge edged Jefferson City 1-0 at the 179 Soccer Park. "It's tough."
