Franklin trying to move on to Tennessee

COLUMBIA — Missouri quarterback James Franklin has a reputation as being one of the most chipper players on the Missouri football team.

But Monday, Franklin was anything but his normal self as he answered questions inside the Missouri Athletic Complex.

Still feeling defeated, Franklin is hopeful to put Saturday’s four-interception performance against Florida behind him.

“(My teammates) all just encouraged me and told me not to hold onto it and that we all make mistakes,” Franklin said. “Especially at the quarterback position, you can’t worry about those.”

Franklin does worry about the mistakes he made and what might have been as the Tigers played undoubtedly their best football game of the season.

But as Missouri’s defense shut down the Gators and the Tigers moved the ball on offense the best they had in weeks, the mistakes still seem to be brining Franklin down.

“I was rushing a lot of things and tried to escape the pocket more than I needed to,” Franklin said.
