Relieved and excited — Michael McCoy of Helias felt a little bit of both emotions after running Saturday morning in the Class 3 state cross country championships in Jefferson City.

“It was one of my goals going into the season to be all-state again and it feels great to get it,” the senior said after finishing 13th at Oak Hills Golf Center. “I was hurting a little bit, but I really wanted this.”
