If there was one thing Jefferson City can take from Saturday’s Missouri State High School Activities Association Cross Country Championships, it’s motivation for next season.

The Lady Jays, fresh off their sectional victory, finished 11th in Class 4 on Saturday at the Oak Hills Golf Center.

“We just didn’t race as well as we wanted to on the girls side, obviously,” Jefferson City cross country coach Brett Phillips said. “That’s disappointing to us, it’s disappointing to me. I didn’t have us ready to ....
