Lincoln travels to face Northeastern State
Saturday, November 3, 2012
One constant in the Lincoln football team’s eight losses this season — its opponents’ ability to run the football.
The Blue Tigers rank last in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in rushing defense, allowing 198 yards on the ground per game.
Central Oklahoma’s Joshua Birmingham exploited that weakness last Saturday with 272 rushing yards on just 20 carries. The junior rushed for four touchdowns on his way to being named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week.
Another prolific running back awaits Lincoln (1-8, 1-8 MIAA) when the Blue Tigers travel to play Northeastern State (2-6, 2-6 MIAA) at 2 p.m. today in Tahlequah, Okla.
