Blair Oaks’ Voss eyes Class 2 title

The spotlight shines elsewhere for Blair Oaks today.

With neither the Falcons nor Lady Falcons qualifying as teams for the Missouri State High School Activities Association Cross Country Championships today at the Oak Hills Golf Center, the focus switches to the individual.

More specifically, Brett Voss, who has a real chance at winning a Class 2 individual title.

“There’s that expectation,” Blair Oaks coach Marc Keys said of Voss’ ability to challenge for the title. “He’s worked hard. He’s a talented kid. It would be wonderful to have him be state champion.

“That’s something to look forward to. You want to have fun, but there is an expectation. If Brett gets second, is that a failure? No. Will it be disappointing? Yes.”
