Numbers can tell about half the story in some games.
Wednesday night at Adkins Stadium, the first-half numbers told the whole story.
In a clash of Crusaders, Helias outgained St. Dominic 214-46 on its way to a 38-0 advantage at intermission. With the Helias starters planted firmly on the sideline in the second half of the Class 4 District 6 semifinal, St. Dominic scored twice to make the final 38-14.
"We did a great job of setting the tempo early," Helias coach Phil Pitts. "We let them know right away that we were there to play and to win."
