Drill gets highway crews ready for winter

When the first snow event hits Cole County this winter, the trucks and crew from the Missouri Department of Transportation will be ready. The Central District along with the statewide department undertook a first-time winter operation drill Tuesday.

Crews from the Jefferson City-based facility ran its 17 routes across more than 600 miles of roadways, said maintenance supervisor Kent Howard.
