U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill is taking to the roads in her 2012 campaign, rallying Missouri’s veterans as she goes.

McCaskill stopped in Fulton in her new “McCaskill for Missouri” vehicle en route to Columbia for the first official stop of her campaign.

The RV will carry her around the state and be used as part of her “Veterans for Claire” initiative, a grassroots coalition of Missouri veterans supporting McCaskill’s re-election bid.

I agree. I had a soldier re-enlisting in 98 while I was the Agent in Charge of the Ft. Leonard Wood Field Office. I wanted to do something special to commemorate his re-enlistment, and thought have the ceremony in the Governor's mansion. She denied the request of having the ceremony in "her home"; however, later she had a fund raiser there. Thanks to Rep. Vogel, because he came through and made the day special for my NCO and his family. The military is only convenient to the left when it gets them what they want, after that; we're a nuisance.

So, your claim about "the left" is based on the fact that you weren't allowed to have a re-enlistment ceremony for one soldier at the Governor's mansion during a Democratic administration? How many Republican governors have held a re-enlistment ceremony for one soldier at the mansion? Do soldiers routinely hold reenlistment ceremonies at governor's mansions in any state? Not being allowed to use the mansion for whatever you want is, in your view, being treated like a "nuisance"?

Sorry, man, but it sounds like it was your request that was unreasonable, not the official response.

Your whole story sounds bogus. In 1998, Claire McCaskill was the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney. Claire McCaskill was the Missouri State Auditor from 1999-2006 when she was elected to the US Senate. Like Sequoia wrote, she was never Governor or First Lady. Regardless, there are guidelines and a specific process to hold an event in the mansion - you don't just call and ask.

Claire McCaskill was never a governors wife. She ran for Governor in 2004 and lost to Matt Blunt

He probably talked to Carnahan, not McCaskill. I can see how he got them mixed up. Both Democrats.
