“It is a time to show appreciation to the employees who ensure that our government is the best in the world,” the state Office of Administration noted on its special web page, www.serd.mo.gov.

A main highlight of the week is “State Employee Recognition Day” — Thursday, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on the Capitol’s South Lawn.

Time to throw hotdogs at the Governor again, except he won't be there and his standin will put everybody to sleep out of self defense, and the band will run off anybody who is still awake, and there sure as heck won't be anything more than the 2% pittance offered, finally. Good luck state employees. But, keep your jobs, we don't need you competing in the private sector for our dwindling jobs.

“It is a time to show appreciation to the employees who ensure that our government is the best in the world,” -- If 50th is best in the world, then yes state employees are the very best .

I would like to salute all the Missouri State Corrections Officers who put their lives on the line everyday to ensure public safety (just like those hero Highway Patrolmen) and who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (just like those hero Military Servicemen). The Department of Corrections doesn't care much about its Officers but I do. Thank you for your service and may God Bless you all.

These dedicated men and women are probably the most under appreciated public servants in the state of Missouri. Yes, thank you for your service!
