After a period of economic downturn, some industries are making large investments in the Jefferson City area, mirroring a larger state trend.

Modern Litho Print recently showcased its new Heidelberg press, a nearly $4 million investment that will help make the company's operations more efficient.

Darrell Moore, president of Modern Litho, said the $3.7 million investment will help the company continue to grow and attract more business from out of state to the area.

According to Chamber Today, expansion projects announced in 2011 from Modern Litho, RR Donnelley, Scholastic and DeLongs contributed to 200 jobs and $6 million in new investments throughout the city.
