After clearing the bar at 15 feet, 3 inches at the state meet in 2011 and entering Saturday's finals with a sectional vault of 14-6, Burkett won the state title with a vault of 15-9 at the Class 4 Missouri State High School Activities Association State Track Meet at Dwight T. Reed Stadium.
