Jefferson City planning fire museum

The city is planning to turn two soon-to-be unused buildings into a new firefighter museum, in the hopes of increasing the area's tourism rate.

At the Jefferson City Public Works and Planning Committee meeting Thursday, City Administrator Nathan Nickolaus presented a resolution to use the current animal shelter, set to be vacated next month, and the old fire station No. 2 on East Miller Street as a firefighters museum.
