ST. LOUIS (AP) — A streaker who ran naked onto the field during a Cardinals game says he did so because he lost a bet.
Twenty-two-year-old Collin Grundstrom of Jefferson City was captured at Busch Stadium after shedding his clothes before the start of the seventh inning Thursday night. Officers retrieved his shorts from the stands and made him put them back on before leading him away.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Grundstrom is charged with violating two city ordinances — being a spectator running on the playing field, and lewd and lascivious behavior. He was jailed overnight.
The head of security at the stadium, Joe Walsh, says Grundstrom "appeared to have been drinking."

According to Casenet, it appears that he has a problem with alcohol. Wonder how many times he was out “drinking” before he finally got caught in August 2009 when he was charged with being a “Minor Visibly Intoxicated/Blood Alcohol Content More Than .02%.” Though he completed the alcohol and drug education program, it appears he didn’t learn. Maybe the night in jail will get his attention, though I doubt it.

kentheco - I understand that some people will not find this stunt as humorous as others might, but to reach so far as to say he appears to have "a problem with alcohol" is really ridiculous. You looked on casenet and saw he had a ticket for underage drinking back in 2009. That was 3 years ago and that's the only "alcohol" related infraction he's had. I decided to look him up as well since you made the comment and other than a ticket for underage drinking, he's got two minor traffic tickets. If I saw multiple DWI's I could understand where you're coming from -- But there's not. And if everybody who's had alcohol before they were 21 or had drinks before a Cardinals game is an alcoholic, then there'd be a lot more people going to AA meetings!

its that old puritan ethic hard at work. "alcohol is bad". when I graduated at 16 in Copenhagen it was tradition to get drunk off our arses and ride around the streets in a open air bus. we did much worse than this guy in just a few hours time

Why did you edit this story to remove the David Freese quote? It was brilliant!
"He was naked. He's not carrying much," Freese said. "That relaxes that aspect of the drama. I guess naked's better. I don't know. Less to worry about."

Would have been more impressive had he done this carrying two drinks and a half-dozen donuts.
