FOLK, Mo. - Four times, Jeanne Sinquefield held the Teddy Bear-sized barn owl, looking into its "cutest face" before letting it go inside her Bloody Island barn in rural Osage County.

The lightweight raptors opened their amazingly broad wingspan and were gone.

For a second time, Sinquefield has taken on the responsibility of providing a release habitat for barn owls "hacked" through the St. Louis-based World Bird Sanctuary.
