Senator to continue Medicaid questions during interim

State Sen. Jim Lembke, R-Lemay and chairman of the Senate's Governmental Accountability Committee, wants to continue studying a situation where the state has cut the number of companies managing Medicaid services.

"I think this is something that I'm going to continue to look into, during the interim," he said after taking nearly an hour's worth of testimony Thursday morning.

On July 1, Missouri's MoHealthNet will manage its Medicaid coverage through only three providers in each of the state's three service regions. That's because the state decided this time to limit the number of plans receiving awards in each region when, in the past, any plan that met the criteria received an award.
