Helias advances serveral in Class 3 track

MARSHFIELD, Mo. - The Helias Crusaders are headed to the state track meet in a big way.

Helias finished first in its Class 3 sectional meet Saturday, qualifying eight boys in seven events for this weekend's state track meet.

The Lady Crusaders finished seventh and qualified five girls in five events as the top four finishers at sectionals advance to state.

On the boys' side Will Fife qualified for state with first place finishes in the discus and the shot put.

Other area boys advancing to state include Eldon's James Ellis who took second in the 300-meter hurdles and Christian Williams of Osage who was fourth in the discus and second in the shot put.

Other area girls moving on to state were Eldon's Sara Rhine with a win in the high jump and Megan Humphrey with a third-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles.
