Unexpected high jump lifts Blair Oaks

At Class 2 state track meet

The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons are right where they want to be after one day at the Class 2 state track meet. They just took a different route to get there.

Blair Oaks picked up six points from an unexpected source Friday at Dwight T. Reed Stadium and sit in 10th place after competing in two event finals. Amanda Kiso, who entered the high jump finals as the seventh seed with a jump of 5-0, nabbed a third-place finish by clearing the bar at 5-2.

"Our high jumper pulling off a third place, that really lifted the team," Blair Oaks coach Marc Keys said.

Meanwhile, the Falcons' first day couldn't have gone much better. They sit in 13th with seven points after two event finals.
