Bomb threat investigated in Jefferson City

On Friday, at approximately 10:45 a.m., Jefferson City Police were dispatched to 2023 St. Mary's Boulevard, Missouri Department of Social Services, Child Support Enforcement Division, regarding a possible bomb threat at that location.

Officers responded, along with Jefferson City Fire Department personnel, and evacuated the building. Missouri State Highway Patrol personnel also responded, and the Missouri Capitol Police's Explosives Detection K-9 unit was requested to assist. Once the building was evacuated, Capitol Police's K-9 went through the building but could not detect any sign of explosives.

Jefferson City Police Detectives were called to the scene, which is under investigation at this time. No specifics regarding the call will be released, as it is an open investigation.
