Elizabeth Prenger is one of 91 in Blair Oaks High School's graduating class of 2012. It is a class that shares many memories and at least one common trait: competitiveness.

Prenger, the district's first National Merit Scholar finalist, said she and her classmates are nothing if not determined, and that is what she credits for the class' staggering statistics.

Jill Shanley, high school guidance counselor, said the seniors have set a record with the approximate $3.1 million in scholarships they have received.
