Your Opinion: Honor deserved, despite detractors

Dear Editor:

Kudos to those Missouri legislators who courageously supported placing Rush Limbaugh's bust in the Capitol's Hall of Famous Missourians. One can only hope that some day our country will put aside politics first and return to an objective view of people's true and worthwhile contributions in honoring them.

I could not believe the security required to protect Rush and those who supported his nomination from attack! What is wrong with these fanatics? What has this man ever done to deserve that kind of treatment? So he uttered a couple of words that someone took as an insult for which he was man enough to apologize.

How does that in any way overshadow the $3.3 million (which includes $400,000 of his own money) that he raised just this year for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for a total of $34 million he has raised to date for that great cause?

How many people in this country have risen by their own talents to manage a multi-million dollar success with nothing but a high school education? Of course that kind of success is demonized by the Democrats who want everyone to be the same - on government assistance and voting Democrat forever!

One can only hope that this disgusting display of political extremism is seen by your readers for what it is! If this kind of anarchy supported by the Democrats is not stopped there will never be anyone receiving homage in this country for any truly honorable and deserving acts.
