Helias claims district crown with win over Marshfield

WAYNESVILLE, Mo. — Forgive Helias pitcher Deion Hughes if he was a little leary of the Crusader’s early lead in Wednesday’s Class 4 District 10 title game.

Helias hasn’t exactly been the model for success in previous district tournaments, reaching the title game five times since 2005, but coming up empty each time.

But all of that changed as Helias won its first district title since 2004 with a 10-0 win in five innings against Marshfield.
