Schools to consider Missouri Quality Award process

Both of Jefferson City's hospitals have won it.

So has the Missouri Transportation Department.

Jefferson City Public Schools Superintendent Brian Mitchell told school board members Monday night the district has started the process for seeking a Missouri Quality Award.

"It's really not about the ... award," Mitchell explained. "It's actually a school improvement process that we are actively discussing about partnering with MSBA (the Missouri School Boards Association) and the University of Missouri - and, potentially, some other school districts - to implement the Baldridge process, sharing and cost-sharing some of the resources to go through that."
