Third inning dooms Jays

WAYNESVILLE - Jefferson City wishes it could have a mulligan for the top of the third inning of its Class 4 District 10 semifinal game against Marshfield.

Unfortunately for the Jays, there are no mulligans in baseball.

Marshfield put the Jays away with a seven-run third inning on its way to an 11-2 victory.

The Jays end the season with a 11-15 record.

"I'm going to give Marshfield a lot of credit," Jefferson City coach Brian Ash said. "They came out and played really loose. They really were aggressive at the plate and on the bases. Every hole we created, they found it."
