Lawmakers to start final week
Monday, May 14, 2012
Missouri’s Constitution gives them no choice.
Their “drop-dead” deadline is coming, whether they wish to or not — at 6 p.m. Friday, Missouri lawmakers must end this year’s legislative session.
The House begins its last week of work at 4 p.m. today.
The Senate will resume an hour earlier.
“We’ve got a number of priorities,” Senate Floor Leader Tom Dempsey, R-St. Charles, told reporters last week. “I haven’t really gotten a chance to sit down and look at the calendar, because we’ve been trying to get the budget done on time.”

Don't beat yourselves up over that cost of living increase for the lowest paid work force in the entire nation. That would be a travesty.

Good Job! You all got a lot done this session. We have now a "state insect", "state exercise" Oh and a "slap in your face state employee raise" just so they can say they got a raise this year. Something like $30 a pay check. Insurance premiums went up that much.

... and there was much rejoicing.

I'm happy to see these jackel's leaving town so they can't mess up anything else. In particular I'm happy to see House Speaker Tilley and Jane Cunningham being term limited out. The damage they've done over the years is significant.

Maybe gas prices will go down after they and the lobbyest leave. Gas was 3.35 at the lake on Sunday, and that's always been a tourist trap.

Gasoline is cheaper in Ashland and Columbia too. This stupid convention center tax is killing our economy.
