COLUMBIA, Mo. - Jefferson City's Sam Johnson took second place in the Class 2 District 9 individual tournament Saturday, picking up a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Rohit Ral of Rock Bridge in the semifinals before falling to the Bruins' Ford Zitsch 6-0, 6-1 in the finals.
With the win, Johnson advances to sectionals Tuesday in Springfield.
The doubles team of Tanner Bone and David Steinmeyer took third place.
