Fatima upsets top-seeded Borgia

FULTON - Fatima had an answer. Every single time.

Whenever St. Francis Borgia looked poised to seize the momentum, Fatima was there to steal it right back.

All the answers - a homer from an unlikely source, a rally-killing double play, a game-winning insurance run, a timely pitching change - added up to a stunning 3-2 victory for the fourth-seeded Comets over the top-seeded Knights in a Class 3 District 8 semifinal on Monday.

"Any time you can knock the No. 1 seed off in a one-run ball game, you're doing something right," Fatima coach Scott Kilgore said. "That spoke loud. We took the wind out of their sails several times in that ball game. Throwing those runners out with the steal attempts, turning that double play with a runner at third. You've got to do those things if you want to move on in the postseason."
