Saturday's National League Capsules

MIAMI (AP) - David Wright homered and singled three times in his fourth consecutive multihit game Saturday, and R.A. Dickey earned his fifth victory by pitching six innings to help the New York Mets beat the Miami Marlins 9-3.

The Marlins lost for only the second time in their past 11 games, while the Mets have won six of seven.

Wright singled home a run in the first inning, hit his fourth homer in the third, singled and scored in the sixth, and added an RBI single in the ninth. He finished 4 for 6 and raised his batting average to an NL-best .402. His on-base percentage of .489 leads the majors.

Dickey (5-1) gave up two runs and has allowed only seven in his past four starts. The knuckleballer earned a painful RBI when he was hit on his pitching hand in the fifth inning with the bases loaded. He received a visit from a trainer but stayed.

Ricky Nolasco (4-1) missed a chance to break the Marlins' record for career victories by earning his 69th win. Instead, he endured his 52nd defeat, allowing six runs in 4 2-3 innings.

BREWERS 8, CUBS 2

MILWAUKEE (AP) - Shaun Marcum pitched seven strong innings and Edwin Maysonet hit his first career grand slam to lead the Milwaukee Brewers over the Chicago Cubs.

It was the second straight win for the Brewers, who beat the Cubs in 13 innings Friday in a 5-hour game that ended just past midnight. Saturday's start remained at noon because it was a nationally televised game.

Marcum (2-1) gave up just one run on three hits and had six strikeouts. After giving up a run in the first he did not allow a runner past second, retiring 10 of the last 11 he faced.

Chris Volstad (0-5) pitched six innings for the Cubs, giving up six runs on nine hits. It was the 18th straight start that Volstad did not record a victory. His last win was July 17, 2011, for Florida.

McCutchen went 4 for 4 with his third home run and three singles. He had three hits in as many at-bats against Houston starter J.A. Happ (2-3), giving him six consecutive hits against left-handed pitching and improving his average against lefties to .452.

Halladay (3-3) is winless in his last five starts, the longest stretch in his Phillies career. His last win was at San Francisco on April 16. CINCINNATI (AP) - Jordan Zimmermann extended Washington's streak of dominant starts, and Danny Espinosa homered for the second straight game, leading the Nationals over the Cincinnati Reds.

The Nationals lost catcher Wilson Ramos, whose right leg buckled while he chased a passed ball in the seventh inning. He had to be helped from the field.

Zimmermann (2-3) gave up five hits and struck out nine. Washington's starters have allowed one earned run or fewer 19 times this season.

Espinosa hit a tiebreaking solo homer in the sixth off Jose Arredondo (2-1). Ramos also had a solo shot off Mat Latos.

Nationals rookie Bryce Harper was back in right field with a large bandage above his left eye, covering a 10-stitch gash from slamming his bat against a wall on Friday night. He went 0 for 4 and struck out.

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Brandon Beachy pitched six innings of one-run ball and helped himself with an RBI single, Michael Bourn added a solo homer and the Atlanta Braves beat the St. Louis Cardinals.

Bourn went 3 for 6 with two RBIs and two runs scored, and the homer was his first since Aug. 19, 2011, against Arizona.
