Lady Jays look to continue streak of consecutive district track titles

The Jefferson City girls track team is once again the favorite as the Lady Jays host the Class 4 District 5 Meet beginning at 11 a.m. today at Adkins Stadium.

The district meet has become something of an old hat for the Lady Jays. They’ve won the event 16 straight times.

“It means our kids have done what we asked them to do in the offseason,” Jefferson City track coach Dan Ridgeway said. “Just the consistency of it.”

Behind Kezia Martin and Napheesa Collier, who are each competing in four events, the Lady Jays are expected to finish at the top, along with Rock Bridge.
