Centertown man up to the Walk-a-Thon challenge

In 2006, Bob Haslag had been retired for five years and was looking for something to do when his phone rang one day.

“It was all about timing; they called and were looking for someone, and I was up to a challenge,” said Haslag, of Centertown.

Since 2006, Haslag has organized the St. Jude Walk-A-Thon, which starts at 8:30 a.m. May 19 at Helias Catholic High School’s track. This event is and has been the only organized fundraiser for St. Jude in the Cole County area.
