Blair Oaks is coming off its best regular season since moving up to Class 3 in 2009, racking up 18 wins and earning the No. 2 seed in the Class 3 District 8 Tournament.

Its reward: Potentially the deepest district in all of the state. Six of the district’s eight teams have records above .500, and the top three teams are at least 10 games above that mark.

The second-seeded Falcons open with the seventh-seeded Hermann Bearcats in the first round of the Class 3 District 8 Tournament at 3 p.m. today at Fulton High School.
