Pet Parade set for Saturday

Local veterinarians are celebrating National Pet Week with a Pet Parade through downtown Jefferson City on Saturday.

Participants will line up at 1 p.m. at the Cole County Courthouse to walk down High Street to the Missouri Capitol.

Pet contests designating the fittest pet, most unusual markings and best costume will take place following the end of the parade. No pre-registration is required.

In the event of rain, all activities will be canceled.

Uh oh...asb and sequoia ain't gonna like this. Animals were not meant to be demeaned by wearing outfits and paraded around like...........animals. Get PETA on the phone, this parade will not stand!
