Mo. transportation crews to start mowing

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Road crews in central Missouri are preparing to start mowing along major highways.

The state Department of Transportation says it will mow along the roads three times before October, starting next week. Crews will mow again near major highways in mid-July and September. Mowing near minor roads will follow.

Transportation officials say they also use herbicide to stunt grass growth. Officials ask motorists to be careful and expect slow moving vehicles.
