Monson hurls Helias past Fulton 6-2

Sometimes stronger isn’t better.

Helias starter Blake Monson gave up runs in the first and second innings Wednesday to the Fulton Hornets. But the Crusader senior shut them down the rest of the way as Helias posted a 6-2 victory at the American Legion Sports Complex.

Monson’s only adjustment? His arm got a little tired.

“Once I started getting fatigued, I started throwing strikes,” Monson said. “My arm felt loose and better than it did in the last four or five innings, but I got better with location.”
