City buses add bike racks for riders
Tuesday, May 8, 2012
The JeffTran buses have recently had bike racks installed to allow riders to take their bikes with them on the transit system.
The racks, installed on each bus, hold two bikes on a first-come, first-served basis.
βI hope workers in the Jefferson City area will consider taking their bike on the bus to work in the morning and then riding it home,β said Roger Schwartze, Jefferson City director of public works. βIt would be a great way to get to work and still look nice and to enjoy the exercise with fresh air on the way home.β
According to a city release, the new additions will allow transit ridership to expand by improving bicycle access for commuters.

OR they could just expand the bus hours so people might actually use public transportation.

Why have a bike at all if you're going to use the bus?

Too bad the busses don't go uptown anymore. I remember back when they all went uptown, and the uptown area was a vibrant exciting place full of people.
