MARYVILLE - The Lincoln baseball team ended its season with an 8-40 record after dropping both halves of a doubleheader Sunday at Northwest Missouri State.
The second game was especially painful for the Blue Tigers, as Blake Jones had a no-hitter through 81â„3 innings, only to lose 1-0 after two singles in the bottom of the ninth.
Jones (1-9) struck out seven and walked just two in his gem.
In the opener, Northwest used a six-run fifth inning to post a 10-2 win.
The Blue Tigers ended up with a mark of 8-31 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. Northwest ended the season at 17-32 overall and 16-23 in the MIAA.
