Len Stella has announced he is running as a Democrat for the Western District Commissioner seat in Cole County.
"This will be my only job," he said. "My intent is to put in the hours necessary to represent the people of the western district in the manner they should be represented. I believe if you're being paid by the people of Cole County that you should show up for work every day."
Stella said he would want to take a hard look at necessary services and how the county compares to other areas on things such as law enforcement and EMS service.
Stella has 25 years experience in small business running
restaurants, and believes that knowledge would be helpful, especially when setting a budget.
Stella has also served on the Jefferson City Council, representing the 3rd Ward.
Stella has been married for more than 50 years to his wife, Margaret. They have three children and nine grandchildren.
Stella is also a veteran of the U.S. Naval Air Corps.
