Cole County OKs funds for Chamber

Cole County commissioners have approved an annual $150,000 agreement with the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce. The money was put in the 2011 county budget.

Presiding Commissioner Marc Ellinger and Eastern District Commissioner Jeff Hoelscher voted to approve the payment at Thursday’s commission meeting. Western District Commissioner Chris Wrigley abstained.

The vote came after commissioners heard a half-hour presentation from chamber leaders about how the chamber had worked to attract and retain businesses and jobs in the county in 2011.

What jobs did the chamber work to attact to Cole County last year? Is there a list somewhere?
