Your Opinion: Tax hikes keep coming

Dear Editor:

Every time I picked up a newspaper in the last few months, I read nothing except this organization or that promoting a tax of some kind.

I just read that another county wants a library 10-cent levy hike. This or that school district wants a bond issue. Fire departments want more money do this or that. Cities need another sales tax after voters turned it down and now they intend to go for it again. Parks want this improved or added to.

When will these people who are asking for all of this realize that money does not grow on trees and some people right now have no chance of adding to their income to offset these increases.

I know that some things are of necessity, but when is enough, enough?

With the price of gasoline and for those who have to drive every day this is adding to the household cost of just living. We all, in tough times have to cut back on things that we do not want to cut back on, but we have to.

I think it is time for these folks who want all of this, stop, think and say, sometimes we have to get along with what we have.

Thanks for letting me express my opinion.
