Boxes filled with 35,000 signatures stacked in a pyramid at the Capitol’s north side Wednesday made the backdrop for the “Rally Against Rush and For Women’s Health.”

More than 150 gathered to express embarrassment on behalf of the state in considering radio personality Rush Limbaugh being inducted into the Hall of Famous Missourians.

House Speaker Steven Tilley, R-Perryville, announced the honor for the conservative radio host days after Limbaugh described a Georgetown law student as a “slut” and a “prostitute” for her testimony about birth control before congressional Democrats. Limbaugh has since apologized for his language.

The protesting groups say that Limbaugh’s remarks were not just disrespectful to the law student, but to all women. They contend the remarks should preclude Limbaugh from having his bust placed in the Hall of Famous Missourians.

eye think Rush Limbaugh may have been accurate and honest when he called democrat leader Tishaurus Jones a shole, and a prostitute, and that she is a the typical african american litlle girl, as mentioned in the article about georgetown.

I didn't know anything about it until I saw them filing past my office.

I'm sure Tilley still doesn't "get it", nor does he care.

It is appropriate that they rally for women's health, because some of those women in the picture don't look too healthy.

I'm sure there are no other controversial members of the Hall of Famous Missourians. Many people say Walt Disney was not only sexist, but racist as well. So, should his bust be removed?
